From dark to light. We young LGBT+ walking as one big family

Daniele’s testimony, a member of Zaccheo Group: an LGBT+ Christian group based in Puglia (Italy), on the online retreat “From dark to light” on Saturday 26 September 2020

I wanted to share with all kinds of readers the beauty of the meeting we experienced on Saturday 26 September 2020 “From darkness to light”. If for the most part the retreat took place electronically, due to covid-19, us from Puglia, by the grace of God and respecting the current regulations, lived it live with the Zaccheo Group. It was truly a special moment where the Lord was truly the protagonist because he spoke to our lives and through them to the brothers present. The various moments of the day were well marked: the common prayer, the presentations for mutual knowledge, the videos of human and spiritual formation, the time for personal reflection, sharing and witness, and last but not least the moment of fraternity and of agape.

We have rediscovered the common baptismal vocation that makes us all children of one Father and experienced in a small way the call to be prophets not of misfortune but of Hope, who are loved and sent to all, especially to those in pain and trial. I thank the leaders and the young people who shared this day of spirituality and fraternity with me and those who patiently thought and organized it.

I hope that meetings like this will be repeated soon and other young people discover the beauty of walking together as one big family. God bless you!
