29th September 2022 Ubuntu Inclusive Dialogue: “African and religious Family with LGBTQ+ member(s): is this possible”?
African and Religious Family with LGBTQ+ member(s) : is this possible” ?
We rarely hear stories of parents with LGBTQ children, thier stories, their struggle and their hopes. We know that African families are traditionally believers, and this aspect of life influence so much their personal choices and behaviours. In sub Saharan part of Africa, where Christians are the majority, Christianism is the measurement of social life, making it to some extent part of their culture. This influence so much on the decision parents make when they finally get know that their children are part of LGBTQ+ community. The reaction differs from a parent to another, however the question is: should we blame our parents or the environment they are in? What need to be improved and what is the role of Christianism on this matter?
With our guests, Fr. Gustave Noël Ineza from Rwanda, Nomia Phiri from Zimbabwe and Fortunat Andrianimanana from Madagascar we shall go through these questions and more in our conversation Thursday 29th September at 8pm CET on Gay Christian Africa Facebook page.
